New exhibits at NUMU
The New Museum Los Gatos, aka NUMU, will have two new exhibits on display this August, showcasing the work of artist Holly Lane.
“Not Enough Time to Love the World” will be on display from Aug. 2 to Jan. 5, 2025, and will feature Lane’s work from her 15-year career. Lane’s art combines painting with wood carving.
“In a seamless symbiosis, she pairs each of her jewel-like paintings with an intricately ornamented wood frame that she designs and carves specifically for it,” a press release from the museum reads.
The second exhibit, “In the Artist’s Studio,” will feature an inside look into Lane’s process as an artist, including selections from her sketchbooks, diagrams and a selection of her painting and woodworking tools. The exhibit will be on display from Aug. 23 to Jan. 26, 2025.
The museum is hosting an opening reception for the exhibits on Aug. 24, 3-5 p.m.. NUMU’s is open Thursdays-Sundays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at 106 E. Main St. in Los Gatos.
