Crowned Top Female Solo Artist With Most Diamond-Certified Hits Ever! –

Rihanna’ song “Diamonds” rang true on Friday as she achieved another major milestone in her career. The 36-year-old singer has been named the top solo female artist with the most diamond-certified hits in her acclaimed discography, breaking a significant record in the music industry.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Rihanna humbly bragged about her new accomplishment, writing: “Ain’t no back [and] forth.” The multihyphenate artist, who recently shared that she has “a lot of visual ideas” for a new album, had previously been tied with several other artists with three diamond releases. However, she has now earned an additional four diamond certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), bringing her total to a record-breaking seven.

According to the official RIAA website, her 2007 collaborative hit with Jay-Z, “Umbrella,” earned a diamond plaque, as did her 2016 release “Work” featuring Drake. Additionally, “Needed Me” from her album Anti and “Stay” from Unapologetic have also reached diamond-certified status as of May 31.

Fittingly, the announcement comes shortly after her 2012 single “Diamonds” also went diamond in April. Her diamond discography includes her 2010 collaboration with Eminem, “Love the Way You Lie,” which was diamond-certified in May 2013, and her 2011 single with Calvin Harris, “We Found Love,” which earned a diamond plaque in April 2023.

In celebration of this major feat, Rihanna tweeted a graphic naming her the artist with the “Most Diamond Singles for a Female Artist” as well as the “Most Diamond Certified Titles for a Female Artist.” Her music label, Roc Nation, founded by Jay-Z in 2008, also congratulated her for making music history with her seven diamond plaques.

Rihanna’s loyal fanbase joined in on the celebration but pointed out that they are still eagerly waiting for her next album, R9. It has been over eight years since she dropped Anti in 2016. While Rihanna has never officially announced her retirement from music, it doesn’t seem to be a priority at the moment.

In recent years, she has remained busy with other projects, including her makeup line Fenty Beauty, skincare brand Fenty Skin, and lingerie company Savage X Fenty. Most importantly, she embraced motherhood after welcoming her two children with A$AP Rocky, sons RZA and Riot, in May 2022 and August 2023, respectively.

Although she hasn’t released a full-length album in several years, Rihanna occasionally returns to the stage for significant performances. Last year, she headlined the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show, where she revealed her pregnancy with her second child. In March, she performed at a private pre-wedding celebration for billionaire heir Anant Ambani’s nuptials in Jamnagar, India, reportedly earning between $6 to $9 million for the concert.

In a recent interview with Interview Magazine, Rihanna revealed that she has many visual ideas for her next album, R9, but admitted she hasn’t recorded any new songs yet. Despite this, fans remain hopeful for new music from the record-breaking artist.
