Here are some events happening from May 31 to June 6 in the Chicago suburbs and Northwest Indiana.

When Smokey sings

Smokey Robinson performs at 7 p.m. May 31 at the Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana’s Hard Rock Live venue in Gary. Tickets are $89.50-$119.50. At 5400 W. 29th Ave. 219-228-2383; hardrockcasinonorthernindiana.com.

The legendary Smokey Robinson, one of Motown’s most successful songwriters and producers, wrote hits like “Who’s Loving You,” “My Guy,” “The Way You Do The Things You Do,” “My Girl,” “Get Ready” and “Ain’t That Peculiar.”

Anniversary weekend

The Venue’s fifth anniversary party is May 31-June 2 at Mundy Park in Aurora. Tickets are $20-$30. At 21 S. Broadway. 331-212-8490; themusicvenue.org.

Fiddler Allie Kral and the Night Krals kicks off the anniversary weekend with a performance at 8 p.m. May 31. The Grammy-nominated Liquid Soul jazz fusion band perform June 1 and Great Moments in Vinyl pay tribute to Jimmy Buffett June 2.

Latin dance performances

L-Theory Dance performs at 7:30 p.m. May 31-June 1 and June 7-8 and 3 p.m. June 2 at Three Brothers Theatre in Waukegan. Tickets are $20. At 221 N. Genesee St. 224-419-4325; threebrotherstheatre.com.

L-Theory Collective Dance presents a show called, “The Platinum Experience.” Stay for a post-show Q-and-A session with the dancers.

Ring the bells

Pamela Ruiter-Feenstra of Ann Arbor, Michigan is the first guest carillonneurs of the season. Audiences are welcome to bring folding chairs and blankets. Post-recital moonlight carillon tours are available for $2 per person.

Ghostly throwback

“Ghostbusters” will be shown at 7 p.m. June 5 at the Rialto Square Theatre in Joliet. Tickets are $5. At 102 N. Chicago St. 815-726-6600; rialtosquare.com.

The classic ‘80s movie about three hapless parapsychologists who set up a specter removal business in New York City will be shown. Bar and concessions are available for purchase.
