MANILA, Philippines — D’Navigators remained unbeaten in four games after staving off the gritty VNS Nasty, 25-20, 25-23, 26-24, in the Spikers’ Turf Open Conference on Friday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Francis Saura sustained his fine form for D’Navigators, delivering the goods with 10 points built on 10 kills and a pair of blocks to tie Cignal on top with identical 4-0 records.

Edward Camposano chipped in 10 points. Jayvee Sumagaysay added nine points, while Ricky Adao protected the floor with eight digs and eight receptions.

SCHEDULE: 2024 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference

VNS’ costly errors helped D’Navigators complete a sweep after the former committed back-to-back service faults and a net violation committed by Manuel Medina.

“Sumabay kami doon sa VNS, kung mabagal ang VNS mabagal din kami pero okay lang at least nakuha kahit papaano, nakuha sa tiyaga,” said coach Boyet Delmoro, who is bracing for its next game against the Criss Cross King Crunchers.

VNS remained winless in three games with Medina leading the Griffins with 18 points, while Kenneth Culabat and Jester Bornel finished with nine points apiece.

Dolor joined hands with Joeven dela Vega to erase a 15-18 deficit in the third to complete their victory in an hour and 26 minutes.

Dela Vela and Peter Quiel had nine and eight points, respectively, as the Sealions rose to a 3-1 record in fourth place behind unbeaten teams Cignal, D’Navigators, and Criss Cross.

“Kampante ako na kaya nilang habulin hanggang dulo, sabi ko nga sa kanila matured enough na kayo para habulin yung ganong situation,” said Navy coach George Pascua.
