OAKLAND — Three people were wounded in two shootings that happened less than 10 minutes apart Wednesday night in different areas of East Oakland, authorities said.

All of the victims were in stable condition Thursday.

Police said the two shootings are not related.

About 7:37 p.m. Wednesday a 34-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man were shot in the 1900 block of Auseon Avenue, a mostly residential area.  The shooting activated a gunshot detection system.

Police said the two, who they were told are in a relationship, had just parked a vehicle and were in the process of getting out when someone began shooting at them.

The woman was wounded in the face and the man in the leg, authorities said.  The shooter fled before police got to the scene.  The two wounded were taken to a hospital by ambulance.

A motive for the shooting is under investigation.  No arrests have been made.
