-loving guys and girlies listen up: the sleek footwear brand we all know and love has just released their newest pair of, and I got to take them for a test drive.

Now listen, I’m no marathon runner but I sure do love a cheeky 5km every now and then, and when I do get out in Battersea park I need a pair of that’ll support my feet – and keep my shin splints from flaring up the second I leave the house.

which dropped last Thursday, do just that and more, and look pretty darn sleek while they’re at it.

VEJA Condor 3

VEJA Condor 3

Cushioned beyond belief, light as a feather and durable enough to shoulder my clumsy running style, the unisex Condor 3s are a shoe to suit everyone, the brand says, from beginners to pros.

I took them for a test drive and couldn’t get enough of their utterly comfortable midsoles, sleek and colourful design and overall support. Huge win.

Receiving the Award 2023 at ISPO, World’s premier trade fair for outdoor and sports, theare a pair to tick not just your performance boxes, but your sustainability ones, too.

What are they made of?

They boast a state-of-the-art bio-based midsole made from 43% sugarcane as well as sustainably sourced and organic Amazonian rubber, making, as the ISPO Award Jury wrote: ‘new advancements in research and development of bio-based materials to create a running shoe that meets the needs of an environmentally conscious runner, from beginners to long-distance enthusiasts.’

Wearability?

Underneath, the shoe boasts a large, grippy outsole with a full-length L-FOAM cushion for unmatched support and high shock absorption capacity, meaning you’ve got a comfortable, vibration-free ride every time you head out for a run.

And honestly? That midsole is comfy. Like, really comfy. Running on a pillow vibes. Bouncy house vibes, giving me a high energy return that was a lovely support when I started to fatigue (*don’t judge me, I’m not at the peak of fitness).

The 100% recycled engineered-mesh uppers and T.P.U. panels are meant to offer targeted support for greater stability as you run, and while I have I high instep that can make running shoes feel tight and restricting, these simply made me feet feel supported from all angles.

VEJA say the Condor 3s have unmatched durability, preserving their shape and cushioning after upwards of even 1000km (Picture: VEJA)

Comfort factor?

While I’ve only given them about 20km of testing thus far, VEJA say the have unmatched durability, preserving their shape and cushioning after upwards of even 1000km.

This makes them perfect for beginners, casual runners and pros alike.

But now for the elephant in the room: the design.

I’d be lying if I said that when I opened the shoe box of these bad boys I didn’t gasp and jump for joy.

I’ve got the Areia White Gradient colourway and they are absolutely GORGEOUS. They feature a pink, purple and orange gradient design set against an ivory base, with standout pink and purple treads suited to on and off-road running.

They’ve also got an 8mm drop, offering the perfect amount of chunk-appeal I’m after in a running trainer.

Tied up with pink laces who’s serrated edges stopped them from coming undone while I ran, they truly are one of the chicest runners I’ve ever seen.

The are also available in the colourways Black Calcaire and White Black, perfect if you’re after something a bit more neutral.

My verdict?

Honestly? These will be my go to running shoes for a long, long time to come.
