Investigation continues into Aurora shooting

Aurora police said the investigation is continuing into a shooting in the city March 24 that left a man critically injured.

At 2:19 a.m. March 24, Aurora police officers were called to an alley in the 700 block of East New York Street after a local resident heard someone screaming for help, according to a post on the Aurora Police Department’s Facebook page.

Officers arrived at the scene and found an 18-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds inside a parked vehicle, police said.

Aurora Fire Department paramedics transported the man to a local hospital for treatment of critical injuries, according to the Facebook post. No other injuries were reported during the incident.

The investigation into the incident remains active, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call the Aurora Police Department’s Investigations Division at 630-256-5500.
